Storms aren't fun for you or your pet!

Storms can be hard on an entire family when they strike, including your pets! It's important to make sure you have a plan in place for your precious pets to keep them safe and as calm as you can during a storm.
When a storm strikes, try distracting your pet by petting it, giving it a favorite treat, playing fetch, or offering a favorite toy to play with. Distracting your pet will help take off some of the stresses it may encounter due to an unfamiliar event such as a storm.
Sometimes placing your pet in a snug shirt or jacket will help to soothe them the way a baby would feel when swaddled. It may be helpful to put a TV on to mask the sound of a thunderstorm as well.
Most importantly, try to stay calm yourself during a storm to avoid your pet from picking up on your stress.
If you need more assistance, you may want to call your vet to come up with an appropriate game plan for your pet.
